Messaggio email del tipo "Failed Delivery" (Invio non riuscito)

Se ricevi una email da un "MAILER-DAEMON" o da un "Mail Delivery Subsystem" che include nell'oggetto una frase simile a "Failed Delivery" (Invio non riuscito), significa che il messaggio che hai inviato non ha potuto raggiungere il destinatario e ti è stato rispedito. Questi messaggi sono generati automaticamente e di solito contengono anche il motivo del mancato recapito.

I messaggi non riusciti o "respinti" si compongono in genere di due parti:

  1. Il motivo del mancato recapito
  2. Il messaggio originale.

Esempio di notifica di errore

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at yahoo.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

123.45.67.89 failed after I sent the message.

Quasi sempre il motivo indicato è un errore nell’indirizzo email del destinatario. Se il Mailer Daemon dice che l’account non esiste, verifica attentamente che l’indirizzo sia corretto: basta un solo carattere omesso o spostato per impedire il recapito. Se però i messaggi continuano a tornare indietro, dovrai verificare che l’account non sia stato chiuso o spostato.
